According to this article from iPhone in Canada: http://goo.gl/GgPYC, AT&T is finally allowing people to unlock their iPhones if they're out of contract. Finally, I think this is WAY overdue for AT&T. No more will people have to wait for an unlock if they have to upgrade their firmware (if jailbroken). What do you guys think? Was this move overdue for AT&T?

I think they reserve the right to keep whatever firmware they like. It's not easy to support a jailbroken device. Maybe with phones out of contract, they don't offer support for such devices. m2c
