Connecting to Minecraft servers issue

I have been having some problems connecting to ANY minecraft server from my home internet. I have tried connecting to servers that have ports other that 25565 (default port) and I still haven't had any luck. I have proven that the cause is not my computer's (macbook pro) fault by trying to connect to servers using my friends internet and at school. I am able to connect to servers from other internet connections but not mine at home! Please help! (ask as many questions as needed so I can fix this problem) BTW, if this helps, my internet provider is quest and I have a dls modem.

I am guessing this is a port issue.

On your url bar type in 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.1
Log in to your dsl modem.(The password and username are typically "admin.")
Go to Port Forwarding,
Create a new rule with the following:

TCP=25565. UDP=25565. Schedule= Always. IP Address= *nothing

No luck... Anything else I can try. (no luck with those my internet connecting to those IP's in my browser...

Did you have the Ethernet cable connected to the computer? Are you using WiFi?

I am using an ethernet cable. I am not using wifi... But I know that I can connect to servers from other peoples wifi

0	Does your ISP block Minecraft for some reason? (Can't imagine why but anything seems to be possible just lately!) Do you get any error messages or just a blank screen? I'm assuming that you've done a sweep for viruses and malware. answered May 06 '12 at 19:23 Cornelia Cornflake 880●2●3●16
