Lots of people comment on how good I am at remembering when certain events happened, whether they are public events or personal/family events. To me it's just obvious how to do it, and that is by associating them with dates you have to know (like when you started at a particular school, or such like.) now obviously not everyone does this. So I wad wondering, are you good at remembering when things happened, if so how do you do, and vice-versa?

I guess it just depends on your memory in general. If you can remember things associated with an event you're more likely to be able to determine when and where it happened. But some people just don't have a knack for remembering specifics like that. I know someone who has a ridiculous amount of knowledge and intelligence but can't even remember what he ate for breakfast, or where he went on vacation last year, or anything I told him in a conversation we had the day before. Haha this man is going for a Ph.D.
