Will this in-line dimmer require anything else aside from it's software?

So recently I was considering adding a ceiling fan to my room. What happened is I realized my room isn't wired for that. So it only has a single switch. I wanted to keep that switch a dimmer but I can't imagine it running the fan too well. So I started looking for ways to add the fan and keep some sort of dimmer. I came across this one (link below) that says it works wirelessly and can do up to 600 watts. (My lights are LED so I only take 21 watts of power for lights.) I know I meet requirements on that but do I need to have anything other then this and software on my devices to run it? http://www.smarthome.com/2475D/In-LineLinc-Dimmer-INSTEON-Remote-Control-In-Line-Dimmer/p.aspx

I only skimmed the stuff but I don't see where it says it operates wirelessly. Be that as it may it seems like an awful lot of trouble and money to use for one fan, especialy a ceiling fan which is not the most efficient cooling method anyway. It would be a whole lot simpler and cheaper to put in a second switch or cheaper still to run a free standing fan off an existing socket!!

oh sorry, forgot. Its remote, but programmable. And sadly, this room heats up a bit with machines so this would be a very effective way to move air....

Yes but it won't actually move the air so much as swirl it about a bit. The best you can hope for is to feel cooler but only if the current is directed at you and ceiling fans tend not to be too directional. If you actually want to reduce the temperature in the room you'll need an extractor of some kind (pointing a floor mounted fan at an open window at the very least!)

I was meaning that I needed circulation. And A ceiling fan would be nice. But hypothetically the dimmer would work right?
