I am a zombie movie and book fanatic. I have seen scenarios where there are safezones centered in cities and such. Do you think the U.S military, Chinese military, Korea, etc, would handle it safely and well or would order entirely collapse and humans would almost reach extinction? I live in America and would trust the U.S military to take care of it. I would also, head to a refugee camp to see what awaits me. Thoughts? I also think that it would be more likely for order to collapse but would hope not. Thanks. |

I love these questions! I'm a zombie fanatic too, and frequently engage the the conversation that starts "what is your zombie plan?" I think the world as we know it would be over, going by the Romero zombie rules (bites kill you and spread the virus). As in World War Z, where the epidemic broke out in a Chinese hospital, it is hospitals that will cause it grow out of control, and global transportation that will make it incontainable. |

The suspension of disbelief necessary to accept the premise that a creature devoid of mental resources, unable to move faster than the average tortoise, and entirely weaponless could survive for more than ten seconds in any society sufficiently advanced to be able to use an axe, let alone 'reproduce' to the extent of creating an army capable of threatening to dislodge the human population, is so vast that I think it's safe to assume that we really don't have anything to worry about. |

zombies already exist, they are known as republicans. we will be o.k. once we beat the back once and for all this year. |

the zombie outbreak already started |

I think we would be fine although, I would probably end up getting some food, guns, and going to home depot to live it out there |

Extensive mathematical studies have been published in academic journals on this matter... http://mysite.science.uottawa.ca/rsmith43/Zombies.pdf In almost all cases humans are screwed, but lets agree now that we will use the impulsive attacks method... Wow, nice find, but how much free time do people have to figure that out... that is the thing about academia, you can research what you want as long as people are willing to send you grant money... |
