  • Good for text and web browsing: 1MB/s
  • Good for streaming low quality video: 3MB/s
  • Good for streaming HD video: 12MB/s
  • Good for downloading files: Depends on your patience level.

hahaha here in Lebanon the fastest speed you can get is I guess 2MB/s!:s and it will be too expensive

Depends on your needs.

For browsing, even 3mbps is good. I download with 20mbps and I'm very happy with it.

I have a 1.5 Megabit connection and it's fine, thought it could be better. I'd say anything over 5 MB is great.

Mine is about 20MBs and I'm pleased with it. You should be fine with that same speed.
