Most people have plenty of opinions on backup, and I am no different at the end of the day. Some people use just a harddrive, others use an cloud storage, others use more than one solution. What are your opinions and describe your backup solution? Windows or Mac what do you do to make sure your data is safe in the event of an harddrive crashing, a fire, theft, earthquake or whatever happens. My backup solution is the 3 - 2 - 1 backup solution. I have 3 backups of everything.
This solution gives me peace of mind when it comes to my data. Now for the little plug: If you don't mind I have actually made an YouTube video about my back up solution on my channel. Opinions are always welcome :o) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XQOhzz3tjI&list=UUTU3o3ubgoBNncXH1AJMLoQ&index=1&feature=plcp |

Custom built NAS, Dropbox, Box, Skydrive and Google Drive. |

I hate to say, the only back ups i ever do, is saving a couple of documents and my music to a flash drive. |

I have a 5TB NAS that holds videos and photos. Videos as in TV shows stay on that. Family photos and videos are mirrored over 3 houses 9 miles apart from each others :) ~1-2TB My own docs are on Google Docs or my FTP mirror server that is in London. |

I use Crashplan (free version). I backup to one external hard drive, one local computer on my home network and to my friend, so I always have two local and one "cloud" backup for free. I highly suggest trying Crashplan, you can create personal cloud with friends, so everybody is backed up safely and offline. I also use Macrium Reflect free for system images in case of hard drive failure, that are only stored locally. |

At work, we employ an automated Amazon S3 differential backup solution for backups of crucial data. Personally, I have barely anything that I can't bear to lose, and that I do with a USB stick or two. Amazon S3 stores your data in several physical locations, and it works well for us. |

I generally just use Deja Dup to back up my files to an external hard drive. |

NAS on the home network, two external drive backups, plus all important docs at Skydrive & Google. If I lose it all now, I wasn't meant to have it. I just started to gather some older HDD's and a tower to put together another little data safe (maybe FreeNAS?)... ;) |

I have one external hard drive attached to my pc and using genie timeline to do the backup for me. I've recently started to use online backup but iam finding it a bit expensive to backup all my stuff online,so i decided to only upload my personal pictures. |

I use Dropbox, my jump drive, Google Drive and a server I have here at my house, 1TB. |
