What's going on? I haven't posted a question in a lot time because I have been focusing on my family and a business I'm attempting to start. My question, does anyone have tips on what I should do for creating a small web design business? I have created my website and I'm currently in the process of marketing the site, but what else should I do? I have no money to help get things going. I'm unemployed with a family, so any tips would help. If you're interested in what I have so far, please head over to my companies website: LINK REMOVED! |

Gnomies is the best way to get help in the lockergnome community. You can also advertise the site on the livestream at live.prillo.com but since you don't have much money to put into it I would just join gnomies until you get a little more to work with. If I had the money for sign up for Gnomies, I would have done that awhile ago. Well, you really need to try and put yourself out their then. If you don't have a $100 or more ready to put into this, I don't see it going all that far! 1
If you're starting a business, wouldn't you have at least $100? Just sayin' If you don't know me, I'm a 20 year old with a son and family to fund for. I have a car that is close to $800 a month for payments and insurance, food, rent, and a bunch of other bills. I live in New Jersey, so everything here is crazy expensive. I'm unemployed and barely making it, so no, I don't have $100 to spend right now. I also have already made around $2,000 with this business I'm trying to start. It's just slow and wanted some more advanced tips. But thanks anyway for everyone's lack of confidence in me. @DJ Scooby Doo, I started mine with 5 bucks.

Hi, It is possible to start with no money. I have been running a web design business for 10 years. I always take 40% - 50% deposit up front and the balance when the client is completely satisfied. The deposit covers any hosting and domain name fees as well as any out sourcing I need to do for template or logo design. Make sure you have some examples of your work on your website in a portfolio. Approach local businesses that need a website. Ask all your family and friends if they know someone who needs a website. I could go on and on. I am actually writing a book about starting a web design business, if it was finished I'd let you have a copy. Good luck with you business. Regards Roger Weavers |
