Welcome to the site,

I will direct you to the FAQ which has some information on some things that you may want to know as you get started. ( http://lockergnome.net/faq/ ). The reason @DJ Scooby Doo closed this question is because there is not a real reason for the question. Likewise, there really is not a topic to this site you can ask whatever questions you want. Generally the questions are about tech but ask whatever.

To answer your question, getting started on this site is easy start by answering peoples question and then if the community likes your answer you will get up voted. You earn Karma that way. Karma allows you to earn new abilities on this site.
