Web Hosting Confusions - What to do?

Hello, I'm looking to purchase some hosting. I am wondering, if it is at all possible, to get reliable hosting on a contract of no longer than three months and free setup & domain for around say, under $7/month. If not, how much would I be looking at to set something up? I don't require much, just PHP and MySQL support via phpMyAdmin. Let me know!

Usually people prefer buying hosting services from those service providers who provide domain id also. Works for me, but lately i have been using Wordpress.org and so the best hosting service i got was Gator for easy installation purposes.

Gator sucks. Over sells tenfold.

if you get everything from word press I believe tthey discount the service ..

it not impossible to find web hosting for $7 or so a month it gets more dificult the more services you are looking for with it such as mySQL as that is a service that requires a data base that uses storage space separate from host service..

most people use wordpress and other services just use there domain on that type of service , $7 a month doable how ever that will bwe a comeon price of 30 days most likely ..

for fair web hosting with easy suport 24/7 your looking at from $50 to $100 a month it will most likely include all webservices including unlmited emal accounts and several mySQL data bases

Most hosts that I have found have PHP/MySQL support. I'm just confused what to go with. Anyone tried blue host? The price is right but just not sure...

Why not use a second computer set up with either IIS(Internet information Services) that is built into windows if that is what you have at home. Or install Apache as another free alternative. With php and mysql to be used with as a database. And go with http://dyn.com/ for making your own web address. that will link your address to your server at home. You would be able to see it both locally on your network. And be able to show it to your friends and family with the link externally. All free and if you have the time and patients to set it up as well. I've done it already for three computers of mine. And shown several friends how easy it is to set it up at their places.
