I have an Nikon D60, had it since 2009 and at the moment, I feel like I am ready for the next step in progress when it comes to my camera. I would also video function. Now the reason for my question, Nikon had just released the 3200 which is an "replacement" for the 3100, and so I am wondering if anyone has heard of an replacement for the D5100 in the near future (I am talking a few months)? I cannot find anything on the internet apart from one site that expects an replacement in 2013... I have nothing against buying previous genreation, however I don't want to buy one knowing that within a few weeks its going to be considerably cheaper or a new one is on the way SOON... |

The D3200 is NOT a replacement for the D3100, it is an addition to the range. If you want video and it is important for you then I would go with Canon (550D or 600D) as it is far better on the Canon's. You'll also get better photo quality too. You likely have lenses for Nikon so the D3200 would not be a bad camera. It's better than the D5100. |
