iOS is Apple's operating system it hasn't had any major changes since the Original iPhone with iOS 1. We're now at iOS5 and later this year iOS6, and it still hasn't changed. Are you getting bored with iOS's limitations?

Don't fix it if it's not broken. I'm not a Macintosh enthusiast or even a user (Linux guy here, I like my GPL liberties), but I'm pretty sure having a stagnantly stable OS should be a good thing. Especially when "it just works" is a phrase your target audience likes to use.

Apple knows that when the add something new and big it has to be tested to the extreme! Just look at Microsoft for an example, Vista was a huge overhaul which failed miserably! When Windows 7 came around (which is what Vista should have been) many people already switched to either Mac or Linux and had no needs to go back to Windows again.

Apple knows that they can lose a lot of customers if they give them something which isn't done or hasn't been thought through completely. Only once it's absolutely done it will be given to the users.

I have a iPhone 3G and 4. I am getting bored with my iPhones because it's just not me anymore. I think Android is me now. iOS is getting too stale for me, even though I am jailbroken and I can install themes via Cydia and launch it via Winterboard. Android you have many options and you don't have to be rooted to do many things. This is why I am moving to Android when I can save up for a HTC Sensation or maybe a Galaxy Nexus.

Word, I don't understand how this was meant to be the answer. I thought this was a discussion.

First of all, What's your question?

I must say there have been many changes in iOS in the "looks" department: 1. Users can now put a wallpaper on their home screen instead of a black background 2. The "Dock" is now with a 3D-kind effect 3. Notification Center (that's actualy just a change of looks, not functionality.) A - Notifications on your lock screen B - Notifications can now show in the upper part of your screen C - Widgets and notifications can be displayed after a swipe from top to bottom 4. The sliders are not square anymore but rounded 5. Folders can be made to create a stack of icons

Now think about it, it was 2007 since the first iPhone came out and I think they have made many many changes to the look and feel of it.

I honestly like iOS the way it is. It has all I need. And as @Kris said in his answer, "It just works" I enjoy the way OSX is heading too. Adding some of the best features of iOS to OSX. Apple knows solid software pretty well.

I miss iOS! I recently purchased the HTC One X with Android ICS and I miss iOS! iOS was a much better optimised and looking OS. Android is just... boring.

Are you kidding? I have a One X and I love it, there's just something about the UI that seems special, iOS, in my opinion is boring.

Not kidding. Android is clunky and feels slower than it should be. Apple's design is much better.

I'd like to get an Android phone, but since I already have an iPod Touch and all the apps, I'll probably just get the new iPhone when it comes out.
