I have an Acer Aspire 3610 and I go all my drivers that needed to be updated worked fine but when I tried to update the Wireless driver for the wireless internet the update didn't work. I went to the Acer site to download the drivers to a flash drive and then to the laptop and that still didn't work. I do not know what to do because when I called Microsoft they told me to go to answer.microsoft.com to get ANY Windows 8 help I needed. I do not want to waste my time on that site because I know that here people are going to help me fast. This is a problem and I can not access the internet. Once I have the wireless installed on my computer I can activate Windows 8 and use any of the apps on my laptop. Another thing I forgot was that I have to connect to Ethernet in order to connect to the internet it's telling me. I have my desktop wired to the internet and I do not want to disconnect the Ethernet wire to connect to my laptop. I do not want to loose the internet on my desktop. So maybe if I plug in the Ethernet I can get my problem fixed? I am just lost because I tried everything but I can not seem to get this question answered. I just want to have the wireless to work again so I can surf the internet and so I can use apps. |

People like you need to learn: Windows 8 is not operating system ready for operation. The drivers are designed for Windows 7 and not to Windows 8 specification and services that are different than Windows 8. If you cannot find a driver, you are likely out of luck. |

I'd at least plug in the Ethernet cable and see what's up. Otherwise, as I told you before, put the drivers on XP compatibility mode. |

the answer is simple if the wire less was working before you updated you have to restore the original driver not all updates will work for all computers .. as much reading on win 8 as I have been doing recently you are one of a few having such as issues so to make a blanket statement that wireless driver don't work on win 8 is bogus not wanting to unplug the hard wire from the desk top and not wanting to spend time reading Microsoft known issues and how to's is poor excuse to blame microsoft for the issue .. there is saying that goes like this is it isn't broken don;t fix it it goes for everything this includes updates be it operating systems , programs hard ware drivers .... im all for stay on top of new things like beta testing but when I do I am also willing to become well versed in what it takes to repairs problems and issues .. |
