The biggest reason for me wanting too move over to the new Macbook Pro's is that they offer superb build quality and performance that lasts years, the same cannot be said in my opinion for other systems of equal or less value. Notebook's are always some kind combination of the following: poor battery life, too heavy, they run too hot, poor reliability, parts are just thrown together, they have a short life span, poor build quality, sometimes lacking power or they have the power but a poor res screen etc etc. Some laptops are better than others but at the end of the day they'll always have one or two of these holding it back, it's just a question of which ones and whether you're ok living with them. This frustrates me about laptops, that the only real way to get a good system that doesn't run hot, is lightweight, powerful, great CPU, lot's of memory, plenty of storage, high res screen, offering great build quality, performance and battery life is for me to pay for me to switch to a Mac and a different OS, it's about time there was an alternative.

Ultrabooks should hopefully be the answer but of course they're still underpowered and don't come in a 15 or 17 inch model at least not without again sacrificing something such as portability and battery life. So how long will it be until there's a top quality high performance Ultrabook with great build quality that's also 15inch or larger? If there was an Ultrabook that ticked all the boxes as the Pro's do at the same price or less i wouldn't switch to Mac but as there isn't, Apple have another convert waiting to join the ranks.

"The biggest reason for me wanting too move over to the new Macbook Pro's is that they offer superb build quality and performance that lasts years, the same cannot be said in my opinion for other systems of equal or less value"

have you heard of ThinkPad?

"Notebook's are always some kind combination of the following:

poor battery life, I get up to 8 hours out of my thinkpad

too heavy, Some PCs weigh as much as 3 pounds and still have a decent amount of power http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?GroupID=37&Code=X230_BASE_SAP&category-id=42D5009B1EABB377BFC4965EE083D306

they run too hot, And mac books dont? I have seen them get very hot http://www.dailytech.com/New+i7+MacBooks+Hitting+100+Degrees+Celsius+Hot+Enough+to+Boil+Water/article18258.htm

poor reliability, I have had mine for going on 4 years and never had any hardware failure

parts are just thrown together do you have supporting evidence of this

they have a short life span once again going on 4 years and going strong, still beats most other laptops in its class

poor build quality once again I think you said the same thing but different words, I have solid hidges and it has withstood a few drops and being trown around every day for 4 years only light scratches

sometimes lacking power or they have the power but a poor res screen etc etc. Ill admit, my screen does not have high resolution, but its a laptop, I don't need it it for 98% of things I do like Electrical CAD work and programming.

This frustrates me about laptops, that the only real way to get a good system that doesn't run hot, is lightweight, powerful, great CPU, lot's of memory, plenty of storage, high res screen, offering great build quality, performance and battery life is for me to pay for me to switch to a Mac

What frustrates me is people who think Macs are truly superior to PCs. They are not, and I feel that most of the selling points are pointless for 98% of people out there for example, I dont need a uber good screen if im going to browse web all day. It is simply a way for them to charge more by making you buy something that is nice, but you don't need. Sure your wallpaper could look amazing, but I cant do a whole lot of work on my wallpaper now can I?

The only thing that apple has going for them and there PCs is that they control the OS... The parts they use are no better then what you can get on a nice PC, in fact many times they are the same.

Also this is not even a question! and if it was one it shows lack of research before hand.
