So lately I have been browsing the web quite a bit since summer is filled with a lot of free time for me. I notice that a lot of people seem to go after Apple for little things while I don't see much of things against Windows. Now before you go and call me a fanboy, I give respect to both OS-es, but I primarily use my Mac. I just notice a lot more hate toward Apple. Does anyone else notice this?

I think both companies get more hate than they should. I do prefer Apple over Microsoft, but I think both produce good if not great products.

The only reason that they hate on the other is because they're jealous of what the other side has (what they can't afford).

Yes. Most people prefer Macs, I prefer Windows, and all I get is hate on how Microsoft sucks and how I'm a fanboy.

Mac users do get more criticism than windows users and for idiotic reasons. I am am Mac user after being a Windows user for many years. I had many reasons for my change. You will often find that the majority of those Windows users who criticise Mac users will have never even used a Mac for a good enough period of time and often know nothing about them. They feel the need to have a go at what they don't have.

It is also the case that people will dislike Apple for one (often untrue) reason or another and then by default they must hate all of Apples products.

I use Mac, Windows and Linux and I have done years but Mac is my favourite platform. I can make an informed decision.

I wont lie, I don't like Apple period, my opinion and preference. for what I do software is not available for Mac. That is all I will go into it for now. Do I prefer windows? Yes.

As far as user base this sums it up quite nicely http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems.

There is undoubtedly more windows users out there, nearly 75% where apple holds Mac 10% and Linux is just over 2% I am excluding android and iOS form this so in reality the percentages are more, I just don't want to figure it out right now.

With that many more Windows users out there, you have that many Windows people to pick on Mac users then Mac users to pick on Windows users. So it is sort of comparing apples to oranges.

I must admit, I am racist to Apple users...

90% of people prefer Macs, in my personal, in real life experiences, not necessarily you people out on the internet, buy a mac either because they have 2k to spare, can't maintain a PC or do not know how to use a windows PC.

I bought my Mac 3 years ago, having casually used Windows my whole life, not knowing much about computers. I got it because my brother had one and liked it a lot. I'd say at this point I'm relatively computer savvy, and I'm still extremely happy with my decision. I'll always buy Mac. If it takes a year or two extra to save up for it in comparison to a Windows computer, then so be it. My 3-year-old MBP is still just as fast as it was when I bought it.

I find it goes booth ways and 99% of it is stupid ego fighting. There is small truths like Windows does screw up more often than a Mac but there is just as much user error involved. Also Apple is expensive but it is usually worth it. Simply saying this sucks or that sucks is behavior fitting a 4 year old and I feel that is insulting to 4 year olds. Both Windows and Mac have pros and cons. I will say I criticize Windows more often than Mac personally and my justification for that is Windows flaws are more bold cough vista cough. I do not have a problem saying Apple screwed up though I never liked the Might Mouse for example and wish I could combine Apple ID's.

End of the day I believe all systems have things they each do better than others. I personally believe that Apple is far better at video and photo editing and I prefer Pages over World. I also believe that Windows is a better OS for games like Call of Duty (bootcamp is valid in this).

I will paraphrase Chris here people like to project their own insecurity with their decisions on others.

If you use Apple products then you've got more money than sense. Not a criticism, merely a fact. Why would I waste time commenting on that fact when there's so much I can be doing on my perfectly adequate, far less expensive equipment instead?

I agree, most do say that. I own a Mac and a PC, more partial towards Windows, since I use it more but Mac is fine if you want to go that route.

are there any statistics that show how many people run boot camp? and perhaps of those people how many of them use Windows on a Mac as their primary OS?

I like both but I'm called a fanboy all the time. Yes I have a Mac but that is so I can run both Window and OS X on my machine. I mean if I had to choose between OS X and Windows I would choose OS X but that is just because I don't like Windows 8. I respect what Microsoft is trying to do with Windows 8 but what I always say to people is that you don't enter the tablet market by crippling the desktop. Also, in my experience, I have found that the less someone knows about Apple or Microsoft the more aggressive they are about the topic. For example I'm majoring in Computer Science and I had a mortgage broker arguing with me about how Apple sucks.

Windows machines are so behind in UI that apple is beating them in that feature. But for true PC gaming windows is FTW. They got you coming and they got you going
