My shotgun mic is broken.

IDK what is wrong with it.

Got a fully battery in it but the sound sounds crap and like it is corrupted.

Anyone have a idea of what could have gone and any places to repair it? UK Derby

thank you.

Maybe this is a no-brainer, but have you checked your cables?

Also, I'd like to see some more explanation. What works and what doesn't? What have you tried to test the mic. What do you use the mic with? What kind of mic is it? Stuff like that.

did you ever do something like point the mic at a really loud harley davidson motorcycle or something else extremely loud. unless you are using a mid to high (around $300), then they are pretty easy to damage from loud noises.

if you did not abuse the mic then you may want to check for it's warranty and if it no longer has one then you can try taking it apart and checking all connections and also check for cold solder joints, then put it all back together to test again.

If it still has issues, you can do one final test which is take a random mic condenser unit then just hold the wires onto your shotgun mic and see if the audio is clear compared to the stock mic
