How much do you pay for your cell phone contract?

No lack? Yes there is, major lack. Almost every company isn't offering Unlimited plans anymore. Only if you're grandfathered in or you have T-Mobile or Sprint, and Sprint's 3G speeds are close to my Edge speeds, which sucks. You can find Simple Mobile, $40 for unlimited talk, text and 3G web in GSM or in CDMA, Boost Mobile's unlimited everything for $50 shrinks to 30. More people go with the larger companies because one, that's what their used to or two, they're scared on using a prepaid company and they think they will get Prepaid service, which in some cases is true.

there is no lack really at all and the limit on data is becoming standard there are more devices then ever using bandwith and there is only so much to go around better to be limited then not be able to use it at all and that's the direction its heading :)

I have been saying this for a while now all internet is going to be limited in the not to distant future its all going to be pay by the GB or pay by the hour remember today its not just data transfer using bandwidth, any longer its streaming games music video andthe better part of phone service today is VOIP which uses bandwidth as well ..

then there are commercial services skype, netflix video gaming xbox, Wii,ds and others use bandwidth enterprise now is more and more using cloud computing ..

all the technology and gadgets we have and that are in the pipe line are great but we are gonna have to start paying for an ever growing demand and limited supply of bandwidth like the plumer says there is load of water on the planet how ever they dont make a pipe big enough to pump and serve it all at once :)

like oil as the supply shrinks the price goes up !!!

think about this in order to have Ip addresses for all the new and incressing devices they just just started using 128bit IP addressing system on the web

Look at other countries, they have unlimited plans and they look better than ours. If you have unlimited too, they usually cut off at 2GB since "people don't use over 2GB". Well if you do Pandora, Tunein Radio, and surf online, obviously you're going to go over 2GB. T-Mobile hasn't cut me off yet, thank god, or I'd be screwed. Sure I'm on EDGE, but that doesn't mean I don't do my share of Pandora, or surfing the web.

you can only be talking about smaller country's where the number of users is small and the reality hasn't caught up as fast and use is far less more (moderation) of use less hours spent using computer phone gadgets and even television music and such..

what is it you think is better ?? remember the grass always looks greener but grass is grass ..

one might get better data numbers though the down fall is they can not call across country free at all they cant even call town to town free just in the town of activation everything else is long distance extra fees or calling card needed on top of monthly fees some get fair data some long distants free but no free receive or sending of text .. ..

As I said, look at the MNVOs like Simple Mobile. They have unlimited everything (3G speeds) on T-Mobile's network for $40. They've sent me texts about it might be terminated but still my speeds are good. They're truly unlimited in my opinion because they haven't throttled me. I use Simple Mobile on power hungry GSM devices because I can always trust that they will get the same or next to similar service as T-Mobile.

Are you in a classic plan? My parents used to have one of those, a 2 line, 1,000 minute shared on both, free mobile to mobile for $100 until they moved to Simple Mobile.

not sure, we have had the service for around 6 years now and we renew every few years to get a new "free" phone when the battery does not hold much of a charge anymore.

the cost has gone up over the years but it is still cheaper than the same plans offered by verizon and sprint.

I have a sony ericsson tm-717 that I use most of the time, and depending on which classes I get, if I need to use the internet during class, but have the class during the afternoon or earlier where I cant travel with a tablet without getting robbed (cant stuff it in my bookbag and if I put it in a more fitting carrying case, it is likely to get stolen as I see people on the bus get their regular (e-ink kindles get stolen (one of the many features of (queens NY), I use my HTC mytouch 3g slide (handles android 2.3 really well and also works great with android 4.0 (especially when overclocked)

Yeah, you have the Classic plans. They don't offer those plans anymore unless you're grandfathered in, which is great because it's still a good deal.

Nice to see more T-Mobile USA people here on Lockergnome! I wanted the HTC Sensation, I heard ICS is butter smooth on it.

US Other Comments: T-Mobile's been great to me, I had it for almost a decade now (2003) when I was on my parents plan.

I have not once dropped a call, even at 1 bar I still have excellent call quality. However with that 1 bar, if I try to access the internet with EDGE, it will drop to No Service as it's not enough to process all that data.

Dominican Other Comments: Orange has been good to me ever since I got my phone back in '07 starting with an old Samsung.

I have also not dropped a call, and I haven't gone to a place where Orange doesn't have any bars, even in the deep Dominican countryside. I always had either GSM, GPRS, or EDGE in these places. Mostly GSM or GPRS in the deeper places, and EDGE/3G in the more urban areas. With that said, I recommend Orange basically everywhere, except England, I had O2 when I was there for a month and it was better than Orange, (even though I bought the international roaming plan on my iPhone from Orange Dominicana).
