USB. You can almost guarantee that every computer you come across with has a USB port. As we have seen from the latest Retina Macbook Pros, optical drives may not always be around. It is more convenient as it, also, doesn't take up as much space as a CD. USB has better read/write speed in general, and better in most, if not all, aspects. |

Well a USB will load faster and overall better in my opinion. |
|
USB, not just because they are faster, but you can take them along with you easier and you can usually use the same drive the live operating system is on for storage. |

USB all the way, it's blazing fast and it's super portable. |

USB is faster and makes a lot less noise. Also, more convenient to carry with you and doesn't get scratched. |

If your BIOS supports USB booting, you should use USB, as almost every computer has at least one USB port. If your BIOS doesn't have support for USB booting and it has a CD drive, then use a live CD. |

I feel a bootable USB drive is much more versatile than a LiveCD. Utilizing GRUB, one can simple boot multiple OSs (with a few exceptions) from a single USB drive. Unlike a LiveCD, a bootable USB drive can be reused once its purpose has been served or upgraded when a new version of the OS has been released. Personally, I gave up LiveCDs when I discovered USB drive booting. |

USB, doesn't take that much time to install compared to a CD/DVD. |
