Next year I'll be doing my final exams, but I'd like to create a website/forum for the entire class. On that website you should be able to create page's for summary's, practicematerial, answers, questions for if you don't understand a bit and for general discussions. Also the summarys, practicematerial and the answers for it should be uploaded, so anyone can download it.

So far I've not been able to find such a website/forum hosting service which is totally free. So which website do you recommend for me? If I find a good one, at least I'll have something to do during my holidays :)

Only vB has all the things you want premade.

If you want that I would use VanillaForums as you can easily make plugins for what you want,

It looks like that what I was looking for, but it isn't free. Or is the download option for into a selfhosted websitedatabase (public_html) or something?

The problem is not the software. There's plenty of free options - phpBB is very popular and very customisable .

The problem is not the host - most free hosts include php!

The problem is not!!!

What about WikiSpaces? I mean it works for what you're trying to do.

I mean that my classmates are able to log into that kind of website/forum and can upload and contribute. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but for as far I know, WikiSpaces can't do that.

Yes, you can do that on WikiSpaces, all you have to do is get an account and be invited to the forum (if you set the security to maximum).

This may or may not be what you're looking for, but OpenStudy has long been my go-to platform for online collaborative academia. It's geared a little more towards the pre-college crowd, but I bet with a few tweaks you could make it work for you.
