Hey Lockergnome,

Some people already have their school vacation or will get them very soon (mine starts in two weeks) or you'll get time off from your job during the summer and I was wondering if anyone had a vacation project planned. Maybe something just for the fun of it or a serious project.

Myself I've got a semi fun semi serious project planned with a co-worker to make a little story based serie in Minecraft. We've currently got the main script for about 7 (2 still have to be written so 9 in total) episodes without a fixed length (just based on the content we can come up with). We are going to distribute it on Youtube and just see what amount of views we can get (Reddit will probably help a lot with the advertising if we make it high quality content)

Do you have anything planned for the summer? Actually making something or just having fun with friends? Let's let the community know!

I am on "Study leave". In the UK it is one big vacation for last year at secondary school. WIN

So what I am doing is making a FPS game.

Going to be multiplayer and have a few guns and a nice GUI.

Hope to finish in a few months before college.

Smart move, an FPS is pretty though to make. What language are you going to write it in? And 3D or 2D?

Using Unity3d so Javascript and C Sharp.

Ok... I hate any 3rd party simulator (like Unity, Flash and Silverlight) since I want full unlimited unsimulated control over the game, but that's just me :p. C# is a really nice language to program in though! Used it for about a year before I switched to Objective-C for iOS.

I am no way in the developer league so Unity3d works great for me.
