Do you require to enable WOL through Windows 7, or BIOS, or both? How do I go about setting this up? |

You just enable it in BIOS. Then when your machine is off or hibernating (if your BIOS supports that) all you have to do is send a magic packet and it should wake up. I've only done this with my Linux servers, I'm not sure if/how it would work any differently for Windows though. EDIT: I just thought of this, but if you are hibernating or sleeping from Windows, you may need to check some hardware options regarding hibernating/sleeping so that Windows doesn't turn off the Ethernet port, thus disabling WOL. |

Isn't the BIOS settings only for when the computer is shutdown completely (not in sleep or idle mode)? If the magic packet is enabled when the computer is in sleep or idle mode, then is the computer technically have WOL enabled? |

You need to enable it under the device manager. Right click your NIC under network adapters and go to properties. Also the computer must be connected through an ethernet cable to your router and not wireless. |
