When apple launched the iPad, it was clear that it could be used as an educational tool. In late 2011 they also introduced the iTunes U app and interactive textbooks. Many schools have started using iPads with great success. Will the Nexus surpass the iPad on the educational front?

Many schools? Define many! Education worldwide tends to be underfunded and teachers under-trained. The average school is at least 5 years behind the technology, the worst 10 or more! An iPad per pupil is a far distant dream for the vast majority of schools, some of which are still struggling for adequate supplies of paper and pencils!

The nexus 7 is aimed as a response to the kindle fire, taking place as a media device and google isn't prepared as of now to have an education store (like apple and it's iTunes U and new interactive textbooks.

It will mean absolutely nothing. The only education it will be is "How to build and badly introduce a mediocre product to the world"

Down vote me if you like, you know it is true. It was introduced way too late, and it wont have the power that iOS or Android/Linux products do.

I can't speak for the other person who down voted you but I do know why I did it. You provide very little, if any reasoning, behind your answer. It makes you seem like a fanboy.

Take your comment and edit it into the answer. That's the reasoning that we're looking for "It was introduced to late"

Nothing! I really mean it. The only system that stands to change education as we know it is Apple iOS Devices and iBook Authoring system c reading Text Books for student throughout their studies.

Though, Android/Linux will have the same leverage as iOS, perhaps not as soon because of Apple's long term education contracts that will not go away anytime soon, but still Android/Linux will eventually have that same power.
