Since Chris and his dad ate bacon, more bacon, and bacon again everyday for a week i've had cravings for the stuff and the past five days i've had some for breakfast and dinner, in fact i've not eaten a thing in between since a good breakfast has my metabolism going quite well which is a nice change for me. And, strangely enough, i think i may be loosing a little weight! This is likely because i'm eating so little over the course of the day and that bacon is low in calories, sugar, and 5% fat which isn't that bad, but 28% salt per slice is allot! So i'm wondering, is there a way to reduce the salt content at home that hopefully doesn't impact on the flavour? Because this may turn into a nice little diet, provided i eat something with fibre and some fruit & veg in between lol |

you could get low sodium bacon. but trust me, low sodium bacon is a real disappointment. as my roommate said "If disappointment has a flavor, it is low sodium bacon." good bacon is going to be salty. We naturally crave salt, our bodies need it. |

Soaking the uncooked bacon in water for a couple days (change the water every few hours) should help remove a great deal of the salt. |

Salt is not a bad thing. If you limit your salt intake through the rest of the day, there is no reason to look for less salty bacon. |
