Hello everyone. I just started my very first single YouTube channel. I know that getting a lot of quality subs takes a lot of work and it won't happen overnight, but I was hoping I could get some tips on how to get more subs and views. Here is a link to my channel. I only have 1 vid and i will be uploading daily but I would love some feedback.

[My Channel][1] Don't link it...

Don't worry so much about subs. Yes, it is great to have more subs but take a look at my reports YouTube gives me, for the last month.

views

See the majority of my views come from places other than the sub-boxes. If you look at it, the subscription feeds only get me 1.3% of my total views. So, don't focus as much on the subs.

Jup I've got pretty much the same thing. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg233/scaled.php?server=233&filename=screenshot20120702at712.png&res=landing I've got about 100 subs and there only game play videos in a 'video per level' kind of fashion. Oh and this is my lifetime report, if this were monthly I would shit bricks!

To what @ryebread761 said is correct, but also look at your demographics and your playback locations as well. Your demographics (in my opinion) is very important because I have to upload content that will please the majority. For example, as you see, my demographics are saying people are watching my videos from the US, Spain, Italy and Chile. So that means, more content in Spanish. Playback locations are also important because it's to me whether or not they're watching my videos. Since I mostly post music videos, probably they don't your situation is different. P.S.- In the analytics, you can check the gender as well, so you can gear your content to the gender of your choosing. In my situation, more females watch my videos, so I'd have to gear my content more to females if I so chose to.

Join a community of people. That is one of the things that I suggest so you can get views on your video's and more subscribers. Make friends in the community and then your new friends might talk about you in their videos. Also when you join a community, make sure it is a relevant community to the kinds of video's you are making. A good community is of course this one here! Also, subscribe, comment, and like other peoples content. This is a really good way of getting subscribers.

I know some of these seem obvious but they're really effective. Small things can go along way.

  • Be different so that you stand out!
  • Take time in your productions - If it seems rushed why should someone take the time to subscribe or watch?
  • Have a simple, easy to read channel so your content can be presented clearly
  • Avoid saying things like "ummm or errmmm" have what you're going to say planned out before.
  • Add as many relevant tags as possible so people will find your videos
  • Make regular videos, the more you get out the more chance people will see it
  • Share your videos with others on relevant forums. But don't spam people.
  • Have fun with it!
