Hi, I started to use a usb as a bootable cd, but I often need to change the cd. My question is, do I need to do these steps everytime I want to change the cd that is on my USB?:

So are you doing a Windows 7 installation? I thought Windows 7 was supposed to have only one disk.

ok now i understand what you're asking. no it's not permanent. you can wipe the flash drive anytime you like and put whatever os you fee like putting on it. plenty of tools out there for pretty much any os you can think of.

are u using windows, linux, etc...? if you are using a windows os are you slipstreaming the updates?

I'M using Windows 8. I've done this once with windows 8 iso, but now I want to change what's on my usb for Windows 7. Do I simply follow all the steps, or once the USB flash drive is bootable, it's bootable forever?

Look at my answer. I believe that windows 7 and and 8 both have similar boot structures, and should work the described. Try copying the files from any windows 7 iso to the stick stick and see if it works

No, once you have set this up, you can use any Windows 7 iso. Vista may work too, but I don't think it does. Keep in mind that this only only works works with Windows 7. There is a different method for for each operating system.

check out YUMI. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ you can put whatever bootable iso on there that you like. and you can put more than one aswell.
