I have an Emachines ET1641-02w and was wondering what video cards will work with that pc. It has several ports on the motherboard but I don't know what to get. If you could Reccomend me a card that can run mine craft and support dual monitors at 1280x1024. Any reccomendations will be looked at.

Specs

Intel celeron 2.0 ghz dual core processor

anything with a pci express x16 should work. id go with a 550ti, should run fine on your computer. given you have enough room in the case & a large enough psu.

And will it run with a 250watt power supply

Jup, you should only have that question on 64Bit systems and those are becoming irrelevant as well. Windows 7 is also old enough to have full support on newer hardware so that's nothing to worry about.

showing 5 of 7 show all

for your computer, any pci videocard from the last 12 years, and ane pci-e card will work.

the main issue is getting a good card that can work with your power supply

a 550ti will not work with a 250 watt power supply

you need a videocard that does not need an extra power connector

a radeon 6450 will work for minecraft but it is a pretty low end card and will not really handle modern demanding games

if you need to run modern games on mid settings then go for a radeon HD 6670 decent 66 watt TDP and offers good performance at the resolutions you want to use.
