Are teens today too "wild?" Do you think that teens are getting too crazy and too "out of reach?"

Yuuuup. Especially here in NYC. Look at these two videos for proof how we're wild, lmao.

Yes it's just for entertainment, but still we're better than this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8h_iSilDaNs S.M.D.W.A.M.F.C.-"Brooklyn Style wild"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6KuAnIIaZg S.M.D.W.A.M.F.C.-"Bronx (my style) of wild".

I'm personally more of the 2nd style of wild, if you get me in the mood, lmao.

To answer your question in more detail, yes we need to figure out where the line is. In this age of, Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook, etc, you see more teens trying to expose themselves to us (males). Now, I don't mind it in some ways (hey at least I'm honest), but still it's calling unwanted attention to themselves, and it will catch up to them when they're like 25, 30, looking for a job.

I agree with @pjob797, completely.

I believe some are, more like most, I'm 14 and I feel like most of the people I know have no regard for anyone but them selves and just want what they want, and expect to not have to work for anything, someone I know, is the perfect example, on a crowed train, in New York, he will start doing chin-ups and start screaming, just to draw attention to him self, he purposely doesn't put any effort in at school and he wonders why people, do not respect him or give him any slack, yet the other people I know are the exact opposite, we actually try to achieve something and we're more mature, so I'd say 85% of teens are "out of reach" and its mainly the world we're living in.

As you can see, I am a teen to but I don't see lots of this kind of stuff because I take "online school" and don't really see a lot of other teens.

IDK if you agree with me @pjob797, but most teens in NYC call NYC, Smut City. Why, because this city is full of you know, fast females. NYC is being known as that now throughout the internet, because basically, if you live in a certain part of NYC, you are a smut if you're a female, and vice versa if you live in another part.

NYC is wild, why? Because we have "days" online that's blown up, for example being naked outside day, no panty day, etc. This city's changed if your a Teen. This is no place to live.

I live in Brooklyn, by prospect park, school in Manhattan, and yeah basically, the few people I know aren't but mostly everyone , its mostly how people act, and then people follow, because they think its cool, and since when is a woman with a spray tan with a face caked with make-up is attractive, but that is what society says is good, but you can tell who is living the world with the wool pulled over their eyes and those who can actually think for themselves and see what's right and wrong and what's just plain out logical.

(Jul 08 '12 at 00:20) pjob797 pjob797's gravatar image

It'll come to haunt them soon, I'm sure. My school is in The Heights (Washington Heights), and they do the same fashion statements most females here do. Well, I say let em be like that. I'm not the one sagging my pants wearing uggs in the middle of the Summer. I'm enjoying myself, not a walking advertisement that says "Hey! I'm a sheep!". Well I can't lie, I wear cargos and stuff like that, I embraced cargos and fitteds. I like that style, but everything else, well that's just some more bull.

(Jul 08 '12 at 00:27) DJ Scooby Doo DJ%20Scooby%20Doo's gravatar image

Yeah, soon they'll realize but it makes you wonder, how blind can they be, meaning since when is going out with jeans at your ankles looks good or people wearing clothes that A, don't fit, B look trashy and C, just why. Cargo pants are good, its how you wear them.

(Jul 08 '12 at 01:13) pjob797 pjob797's gravatar image

You'd NEVER catch me sagging my pants. That is just something I will NEVER do. Sagging my pants means to me that I'm trying to fit into a crowd I halfly hate. Cargos ftfw.

(Jul 08 '12 at 01:49) DJ Scooby Doo DJ%20Scooby%20Doo's gravatar image

My school has a uniform too, but we can wear cargos though. People be sagging their pants all the time, but the deans are cracking down on that.

Absolutely ... just look what people are saying ...

"When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly disrespectful and impatient of restraint".

"What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"

"The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint... As for the girls, they are forward, immodest and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."

A British Government committee has been set up to "examine the causes of the present notorious immorality and profaneness."

Hordes of teens and pre-teens run wild in American city streets, dodging authorities, "gnawing away at the foundations of society"

New York City recorded more than 200 gang wars fought largely by adolescent boys.

Oh ... wait. The writers in question ....

Hesiod, 8th century BC; Plato, 4th century BC; Peter The Hermit, 1274; reports from 1738, c. 1800, 1850; respectively.

So, no. Nothing new, nothing worse. No need to panic!

(I am indebted to http://www.anxietyculture.com/antisocial.htm for collecting all these quotes in one place. There are hundreds more of this ilk spanning every era of human history.)

Most teens, not al, some of us still have at least a smudge of self respect, and respect for others, and I actually know teenage girls who actually dress appropriately, not many but a few, but for the most part you are correct most teens are "wild" but not all

(Jul 07 '12 at 13:14) pjob797 pjob797's gravatar image

Yeah, you really didn't read past the first few lines, did you?

(Jul 07 '12 at 15:00) dunfiddlin dunfiddlin's gravatar image

I did read the entire thing, and although teens have always been wild to a degree, I would disagree and say our generation has taken it to a whole new low.

(Jul 08 '12 at 01:10) pjob797 pjob797's gravatar image

I think some are wild but not all. Young people get a bad reputation often in the media and it is not always true. Some are, some aren't.

To put this out there, it's been about 2 hours and there's this new picture out there of a young girl from NYC doing some sexual relations in a park, and everyone's blowing it up.

To reitrate, this generation is F'd up. I mean, I don't advocate sexual relations in a park, but come on, posting the pictures on Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, etc, to ruin her life is extreme. This has happened to another young girl named Amber Cole in September of last year, and she did suicide after the video of her doing sexual relations in public was released on Facebook and WorldStarHipHop. This generation, I swear. Why couldn't I be born in the 80's? This is just too much.

^Are some comments about how this is "breaking news" and how we (NYC teens) react to this.

If you want to know more about the girl I said first, she's known as Fanta, and you could search it on Facebook, it's just... ugh.

Plus ca change. Not so long ago such a girl would have been hounded out of town, committed to an asylum, or sent to a convent to have the 'evil' beaten out of her. In the 17th Century she'd probably have been charged with witchcraft. Sick as this prurient attention may be it's a whole lot better than the alternatives. And, let's face it, we can't rule out the possibility that this is exactly the kind of attention some girls are seeking. The sex tape has long been a route to fame! And sensationalist accounts of sexual romps have been the stuff of popular media for time immemorial.

I very much doubt that age is a major factor in this story's progress towards going viral in any case. I'd be surprised to say the least if it was solely the province of 'teens'.

Let's say you were indeed born in the 80s. You'd have been your present age sometime around the date of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Pamela Anderson sex tape and live worldwide coverage of OJ Simpson being pursued down a highway, to say nothing of almost daily revelations of Charles and Diana's most intimate secrets. Are things really so much worse just because the media by which such things are transmitted have changed?

Yeeeah, I'd still like the 80's, early 90's. At least those were adults doing all of that stuff, and not teens that are 13-14-15-16 years old.

A lot of teenagers are mentally insecure therefore they tend to not think everything out and it causes them to appear "wild"

Teens = Emo? Are you retarded? :L this is a serious question, and you're not even making sense. Emo is a class of people, based mainly on appearence, and does not generalise all people. Care to explain what you mean?
