Okay, so I am looking for someone to help me install Cloud9 locally on Ubuntu 12.04. I have been trying for a while now and am really struggling. I would prefer if I could go into a Skype call with one of you while you tell me how to do it. Many thanks, Jake.

This kinda sounds like soliciting for help which is not allowed here... Could you maybe re-phrase your question to just asking how to install it instead of asking someone here to help you one on one.

You have to build it. I've already broken 12.04 several times. It's easy to do. You're gonna need the help of a power user that really knows what they're doing. What exactly is it used for a git compatible repository or something?

Yes, that's exactly it.
