if so, how could it be done? i know linux can be put in it :P |
|
It's most likely possible, but it wouldn't be able to process it. Like what @jadtechnic said, you might be able to pull off puppy linux. And it won't be easy to install, it's not like on a computer where you slide in a CD and hit install. |

In a software update a while back Sony stopped the ability to install another OS on the PS3. Before that though you could probably install windows, but whether they ran well enough to use is another matter... |

been through this discussion on a linux forum several times though you could run linux on a ps3 at best you could run puppy linux not really much even for that ran best with upgrade kit .. i am more then surwe if you check with enough people on the linux forums if sony stop the abiltyu they have worked a way around it .. |

It is definitely possible, Sony do not make it easy though. I installed an older version of Ubuntu onto the system a few years ago. I did not really see the benefit of it though. |

Unfortunately, Sony pointlessly removed the ability to install another OS on the PS3 a while ago in a system update. Though, even if they didn't, the PS3's processor is PowerPC-based so it wouldn't be able to run on it anyways (at least not directly). I guess Windows could run in a VM in a Linux Distro. |

Er Maybe you can search it in gizimodo :) and get the answer |
