I opened a blog a few days ago and am going to start blogging about every day. I put up my first post today and I would like a few pointers on making my blogging skills better.

General blogging advise is needed!

Unless you're doing something really interesting don't blog every day or every other day for that matter! If there's a story to tell then tell it. If there's not, don't spend/waste time on coming up with something to write. We really don't care if your cat ate slightly less of its breakfast today or that Mr Jones who always passes your house at 8.30am was five minutes late today. Don't tell us to listen to Coldplay (God knows, we're depressed enough already!). If you're a film maker let's see some film already! Concentrate on what makes you different from the other 20,000,000 people arrogant/stupid/deluded enough to think we should give a rat's patootie that they're still breathing!

don't believe for one second that advice is right , the truth is if you are blogging about something that you are passionate about I dont mean DAIRY TYPE BLOG I mean interest in games tip reviews game system or movies music plays what ever it might be ..

write and blog every day get in groups get your blog syndicated write not just everyday but the more you write the more you post the more your reputation and following grow ...

look for others who might guest blog on your site, really depend what your looking to do with your blog as to what you should do with it , if your goal is to have articles used by others to turn the site into a new feed or syndicate the the key is to build an article warehouse the more you write the more your seen ..

keep in mind there are services out there to syndicate through that will offer your article with your advertising to million of news services the key is to get other to help with the writeing the more your reputation and visabilty grows ..

there are some pretty big and popular blogging new feeds and corps out there just to give you some Idea just for starters cnet and zdnet is pretty much made up of a network of bloggers

in general I agree with the first answer its a good general rule you always want to be interesting, the best thing you can do with any website including a blog site is up date continually the more the better and that don't mean site design that means content .. work on page rank, work on klout ,work on social mention and follower if you want to be noticed its not about how many you are following but how many are following you twitter, G+, facebook are a few of thre top names but you should become cfamilar with all scoial site including linkedin ..

give you an exsample I started a blog back last october on wordpress.com i only posted now and again the first 8 or 9 months and when you tend to forget and lose interest when your not involved each and not only day but hour and if you forget your site other forget you all that much faster ..

I took that site on my own 2 and half months ago with wordpress.org on my own host and domain sadly useing free stuff but it was just a test I was able to take that blog from 8 hits in 9 month to 2000 hits every day in less then 30days by staying at it hour after hour building ties and links to others..

I will give you this tip outside of testing how your platform will work and go over dont use the free domains ans hosts they have a limit to what they will allow once you start hitting 1000 2000 unique hits a day they start blocking your site the hosts and free domains both and they wont let you get your work back unless you pay for an account they hold it and delete it after 30 days of non use .. I wont name any names here but many know who these free companies are they have ben talked about in the past many times ..

there is a lot of sides to blogging , and you really can't be everything but just starting many times you find yourself ..

when it comes to writing a review here or there is great news is fine how ever you have to also remember if involved in a blog you want the larger part of you articles to be best way I can think to put it is ageless and timeless until they are archived these stories are going to be there for searching and reading more then just today they may still be there a few years from now ..

a windows 8 review is going to look old and have far less appeal and market value after its release , same with a pros and cons article how every a tips and how to article will can be helpful and timeless weeks months even several years from now it will have value when your writing in the end you need to eat your not writing for free you will want something if it just a banner ad on the story page where ever it might appear ..

there is a lot more to blogging then meets the eye and it more then about writing lots and lots more ..

there is promoting building the site viability reputation getting involved in many group discussion in places you may never have imagined you would ever be doing things saying thing and giving advice you never imagined or pictured your self doing ..

there is in time story rewrites sometimes to correct things that turn out to be incorrect other times to keep the content up to date also if you are advertising in articles these things have to be watched and updated as well those campaigns only run from 3 to 6 months tops then many just end and there is nothing to be made any views or clicks earn you nothing ..

you can possibly be every where at the same time posting everywhere at the same time , I know it seems simple now you have written one article or story set up the site where is the big problem but when you have 1000 or 10,000 or more many categories and you have maybe several hundred syndicated out there all at once it get a bit more daunting :)

I guess bottom line what im saying is if your serious about it decide what part you want involved with now start getting help now don't lose interest don't let a few set back discourage you on the other hand know it can like a pack on inscets eat you alive in a short time if you dont treat it for what it is ..
