By flash drive, do you mean the flash storage drive?

Thats like asking how long a new car will last? - and no it cannot replaced by yourself as its apart of the logicboard (Motherboard) however Apple probably can replace it...

The less you write to it, the longer it will last. I honestly think that it would last 8-12 years on normal use (some iMovie projects, a library of iTunes, stuff like that).

I would not use the internal storage as a scratch disk for FCP, because you might lessen the life of the flash storage modules.

The new SSDs life expectancy is smiler to hard drives. The new Macs need to go to Apple to get a SSD drive replacement. Apple SSD in the MacBooks use proprietary connection directly to the DATA Bus of the main motherboard.
