I have seen lots of tutorials and videos of how to install OS X on an external drive from a Mac. What I want to know is this: Once that is done, can you boot to that drive from a Windows computer? I know you'd have to change the boot order, blah blah blah. But can it be done?

What you want to do is create a Hackintosh, it is capable, I am not sure how well this will work, but you might want to google "Hackintosh how to" and do some research on the subject. Do your research before you attempt this, but this should get ya started! :) - Hackintosh is for installing Mac OS on PC and also for using on PCs :)
