I like .org for the self hosting, editable PHP & CSS (Without paying $60), and plugins. Which do you prefer?

You're unnecessarily closing questions without a good reason. This is a good question. In future please don't close questions without a good reason - Regardless of wether they're yours or not.

way way more flexablity with installing on your own server then you do wordpress.com but to be honest to make one effective you need both :)

i find since I got wordpress installed on my own web host it still requires worpress.com for permissions it also in many ways adds credibility because it make you a part of a larger organized group ..

and actually if your hosting your wordpress well it is most likely costing more then $60 the program is free many of the better themes and plugins and services are not :)

I got http://www.cameron-ryan.net running on WordPress 3.4.1 and loving it. However, http://cameronstech.com is WordPress.com and I feel like I'm trapped with no customization :(

just for the record I like the .com version better I like the look feel navigation and the stories fit the frame work they dont trail over their background.

at least they appear to on linux chrome ..

I've had both, but I prefer .org myself. The learning curve for .org was a bit to get used to, but I don't regret switching from .com.

I like self-hosted WordPress because it's cheaper and a lot more flexible! Also, many blogging geeks will not take you seriously if you're letting WordPress host your blog on their limited hosting platform at WordPress.com.

With Domain names and Webhosting so cheap these days, and most Web Hosts having the 1-Click Install option for wordpress, i would definitely suggest self-hosted. Chances are you will know someone who can help setup the bits in the process that you get stuck on.
