Post your opinions. I believe it is too closed off and it needs to be opened more to Indie developers. |

well you could be right in ways , though I have to ask myself is the industry really all that closed to independent development or is the cost of development of a good game which encompasses more then many can imagine its more then programming graphic the game plot the music the story line and more all a bit to costly for many to be involved with with out big $$ partners backers .. its kind of like making a movie its pretty much million of dollars no really Idea if the concept will fly take off or be a huge flopping loss when it comes to being an independent developer it more then about a simple job hobby passion or pay check most good games your put your whole life on the line and maybe many others as well just to fund you need a big payday everytime or a very very good day job .. |

I don't think you can really expect publishers to be supportive of indie developers. They essentially have no use for each other. The companies that really matter at this point are the online stores and they are opening up to them #even Steam#. There are plenty of ways for a developer to get what they need. I'll bet one of the most difficult aspects of a project is building a team. With indie titles becoming contenders they've shown their viability in the marketplace and the marketplace is making room for them. |
