I want to know what you guys think some of the misconceptions that people make when they hear you are a geek. I think one of them would be that we know everything about technology. What about you guys? |

We wear glasses, we're disconnected with the world because we're always glued to the computer, we have no friends and if we do we have friends online or acquaintances we say are friends. Also, we have asthma, we're fat, we think Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are gods, and finally we wear the oldest fashions on earth. Oh, we don't know anything about sports or popular music, tv, etc. We speak in L33T, we all play World of Warcraft, RuneScape, or any MMORPG game for that matter. We're scrawny, and we can't defend ourselves. There's plenty, plenty more, and I'll keep editing as I think along. This is a mix of media, meme's, and people's ideas of geeks over the years from 1980-Now, basically. I do wear glasses, but I'm not disconnected to the world in any way. I do go outside and chill with my friends. I do have friends I made in chatrooms or whatever but I still socialize normally. I don't have Asthma, but I am fat. I don't think Steve Jobs or Bill Gates are gods, they're just visionaries. I don't wear old fashions, I wear my cargos, my Nike shirts and when it gets cold them North Face jackets with my American Eagle sweats, but in no ways I am a hipster. That I will take to my grave. I know Baseball and Basketball hands down, Football is a little bit iffy. I am a DJ so I know almost everything there is to know about music from 1980 and up. TV I know a whole lot about, I watch TV everyday and it's in the background when I'm on the computer. I don't speak L33T, because it's annoying and it seems childish. I used to play WoW when I was like 13, RuneScape I haven't played in ages. I am not scrawny, and I can defend myself, I dare someone to mess with me. This is NYC, everyone's defensive. <--- My responses to what I just said. I meat most of those misconceptions... FML. I guess their not misconceptions to me. A lot of that is a fair description of me but it's not because I'm a geek. Some of it isn't even close. I'm a long haired athletic redneck. I have a compound bow in my closet and Earnest Tubb on my MP3 player. If geeks weren't diverse there's no way I'd be accepted. Lool, this is just stereotypes that I put on there, plus things that people think of us. I know man. I wasn't trying to imply other wise. Sorry if it came out that way. Nah, it's not because you said it. I think I didn't make it clear.
