when is the worst season or time to drive to work or home? winter, summer morning |
Winter with tons of ice and snow. That makes the road slick. |
Here in South Texas, the worst driving season is summer because all the new/student drivers are on the road, there's a lot of tourist traffic, and a lot of people are driving distracted or impaired (especially after sundown.) |
Summer, I find there's more distractions, this is going to sound sexist but everyone does it, i'm young and when i drive round and I see someone in a short skirt i'm going to look, the other day I nearly drove into a tree there was a lot of legs on show. In winter everyone is covered up or inside. |

Summer, in an area that frequently has sunny weather. While it's nice to walk, jog or run in, almost all drivers are distracted by the sunlight whilst driving, making it much worse than sleet or snow, which only hinders most drivers, and prevents very few from driving, whereas the Sun distracts those who are already driving, meaning that it's a more dangerous time to drive when it's sunny than snowing. I'm aware that many are distracted by blizzards, but most people and authoritative figures have the sense not to drive when there is a blizzard in their area. |
