I thought originally Spider-Man shot web from his wrist. That's how I thought it always was. In the past 3 movies with Toby Tobey Maguire, that's how it was. In the new movie, he shoots from a device he created.

What is true to the original character Spider-Man?

Someone who knows much more than I do about Spider-Man told me that he originally had to make the device that shot the webs, it wasn't a biological thing. That was one of the problems he had with the original trilogy.

That's what I thought. I never read the original comics so I wasn't sure.

Spider-Man always had webshooters in the comics, the movie changed it to organic and part of his powers which I STRONGLY agree with, he is SPIDER-Man and they when he was created they did not think to make webbing part of his powers? That really does not make any sense as it is the first thing I would think of.

Agreed, I like the way they did it in the Sam Raimi movies.

Well I remember the original Spiderman on Tv he had a device to shoot his web out from his wrists. ( I think the series was from the 1970's.) But I think that may have varied a little bit throughout series.

Here is it is from the 70's way back then from Youtube.

I'm not that big of a fan, but in the cartoons it shopwed it as an upside down watch looking thing, with the web liquid is stored in capsules around it, I believe, and then the suit, unrealistically covers and flattens it to the skin tight look we all know
