I- messages Is annoying when someone messages me on I-message it also alerts me on my iMac as well as on my iPad and it is Annoying

How do I make it so it only alerts me on my iPad/iMac

Waaaaait. I don't understand what are you asking. You're saying it alerts you on both but you want a solution that it alerts you only on your iPad or Mac?

Go to notification center or the setting for the notifications and turn them off on the devices you don't want to be notified of them.

I agree - I think it sometimes notices when you are having a conversation on one device, it doesn't send notifications to the others - but it doesn't work 100%.

In the future with iOS 6, you can turn on Do Not Disturb when you want to shut up the iPad. Alternatively, if you have Mountain Lion, open notification center and scroll up slightly - you can disable notification banners temporarily.
