Should be in %appdata% look for the game or publisher, or look in the program files [x86 or x64 depending which game] and then after the game is installed just drop the old one into the empty new folders

Where did you buy the Arkham City game? The saves if you got it in steam are in your user data folder.

Check your documents, because that doesn't look like the game saves.

Just to be safe, I'd copy the whole Batman Arkham City folder. I mean I don't have this game, so I wouldn't know.

Games also save data in Documents and Settings. I'd look for relevant sub folders in the Application Data folders too.

If you have a DRM game, then you cant backup the install, but backing up game saves is easy.

If the game has it's DRM removed then you can pretty much copy the install folder to any location (or even a flash drive and run it on any computer that meets the requirements)

if you need to reinstall then only backup the save game data as that is all that is needed.

Wait, wait, wait. Does this work for San Andreas and things like that?Because if it does, well I must do this at once next format I do.

for games with no DRM, it works on most of them, as long as they don't have a special set of files that are placed in your app data folder upon the initial install (if files are generated there when the game is first launched then that is fine (it just means that you need admin on what ever computer you are running it on)

The main thing that stops a game from outright running from any storage location and being completely portable is the DRM placed on the games that attempt to lock it down to a single system.

wait so i could put the whole game on a USB then take it to say school and run my games there??? with the saves??? and how do i know if its DRM or not? whats that?

anyone....?

I think it's DRM protected when you have to plug in your CD/DVD into the computer in order to play it.
