How do you recover your lost phone?

I have a friend who claims their phone was stolen. Is there a way to track it so they can recover it?

EDIT: The phone is an Iphone. I remember on an episode of Gene Simmons Family Jewels where one of them lost their phones and they used a website where they could type in their number and it would tell them where the phone was. But I can't remember what site they used. Do any of you know what it was?

What phone does he/she have? I would recommend you guys call the carrier so they can blacklist the IMEI/ESN from their servers so they can't activate it.

Okay, well the only way to really track it is if he/she activated the Find my iPhone service. If he/she did, check on the iCloud site and see where it is located. If he/she didn't, do as I said before and call the carrier to blacklist the IMEI or ESN.
