Yesterday I wanted to listen to something on my laptop so I got my headphones that I usually use and connected them to my laptop. The problem is no sound came out of it. I checked the volume and it showed that it was still on speaker, but there was no sound coming from the speaker when the headphones are connected. When they aren't, sound from the speakers come perfectly. This wasn't the case a few days ago. my question is, why can't my computer recognize the headphones. I have also tried another headphone and it has the same results. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron n5010. Intel Core i5, 4gb ram, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

Maybe you have the auto jack detection setting disabled in your audio settings of your driver or having related problems?

Also, you could try to manually configure the input jack settings yourself when u plug in your headphones and see what happens.
