I realize it a bit of a nebulous topic but, what devices do you find to be more productive?

It really depends more on the relationship between the person and the device though. How much a certain personality and habits match with the device's UI/UX and other philosophies that has been researched by the company's engineers and experts and taken (or not) into account.

Most people would directly rush into Macs due to their great fluid design, shortcuts, gestures and other types of cool stuff. However in my case, I love my very own customized and tweaked out linux PC ;)

Yes and there's also aspects of the mobile devices that help people to be more productive. Those concepts give the human + machine relationship more complexity and diversity than can be practically accommodated. I like Linux too because with it a user with the skills can make their own accommodations.
