Well I might be doing the opposite then everyone else. I want a bigger laptop not some small flat Ultra-book that lacks ports and such. I want a desktop replacement. I've found two HP G7's that I really like. I just don't know what would be a better bang for the buck. The two I've found are The g7-2017cl (From Sams Club) and the g7-1328dx (From Best Buy). The G7-201 is only a dual core running at 2.7GHz with Turbo up to 3.2 (So the total GHz is 6.4). The G7-132 has a quad core running at 1.5GHz with Turbo up to 2.4GHz (Total GHz of 9.6).

I personally would not get a HP laptop for a couple reasons. Everybody I know that has or had a HP laptop either didn't like it or didn't have it long enough to know if they liked it or not. I personally had one 4 years ago and repeatedly had to ship it to HP to get it repaired. I had to send it 3 times to get the video card replaced, once to repair keyboard, and after the RAM gave out, I decided to sell it after I got that repaired. Another reason why I wouldn't get it is the customer service. Every time I called to get it fixed they was so lazy they hung up on me. After the 3rd time it happened, I emailed the CEO of HP about the situation and he basically just said he didn't care so I just kept calling customer service back and kept arguing until they did what there supposed to do. So if I was you, I'd look for another brand of laptop to purchase like Dell or Toshiba, anything but HP.

I just got an HP laptop 6 months ago. It is not the thinnest or best looking laptop out there, but I think HP offers a huge selection and can be very cheap for the components that are inside the laptop. I have an HP Pavilion DV6 quad edition. intel core i7, 8gb ram,750gb 7200 rpm hard drive, 15 in screen

HP is nice they really aren't in the lap top business any longer there really are no PC manufactures left they didnt walk slowly they ran in a loud whooshing rush , if its small and thin its a ultra book or notebook lap top had cd/DVD drives built in onboard there is no new device made with these they are obsolete though for now you still can get external i guess soon they to will be gone like the floppy drive, cassette, tape VHS and CD ..

two PC componets doom are the cd/dvd player recorder and the internal hard drive in the very near future there will be no need for them outside of the server platform ..
