I own 15 domain names. But currently only running and updating 4 of them. I won't give links because I'm sure that considered spam.. Just wondering how many everyone owns or runs? |

Just one through wordpress themselves once I get my other two computers running I may be running three over here. But more private for friends and family over here. Wordpress is always a favourite.. Private sites for friends and family? That's a good idea. I try to get mine popular but it never gets anywhere, haha. Every time I have a new idea, I register a new domain, lol. Yes the two that I want to make private for friends and family. I'll be using http://dyn.com/ which has a small application that you can install on the server itself that you want to create a web address that has dyn.com in there somewhere. but it links the name with the IP address that your ADSL or cable modem is using. (Even it your IP address is dynamic. It will know when it has changed.) And your server has it's ports already foreward over through the router. So it would just be a matter of just setting the name and the port that the you want the website to come up with that you made at home. Its a little complicated. But can be easily shown or written down on how to do it. Then it is just a matter of mimicking it on anything else. getting any website popular so to speak takes lots of hours of work, how ever there is a method to doing it :) make your domain a brand and link your one User name to that brand worpress is a perfect platform because the key is continually uopdateing the site and each post on a blog is an update and a chance to get your brand linked to google and bing :) the key is to saturate the web with your brand your name in many shapes and forms in a way that it actually becomes its own tag :) if you search your name or domain and only see it listed once or you searc h your name or domain and see it listed 50,000 or 100,000 links which do you think is more likely to pop up in a search and its more then about search really but this is one point :) once you get so saturated you start to become your own back link so to speak with a blog the more you can link one post article or story to the next :) back link though many will press it is really not very important its about content but more to the ponit its about content with your name and brand on it write post repete over and over every spare moment write for others post on many many forms and sites use the smae name the same breand every where . and then weekly start to google yourself and search yourself on bing see the results .. |

HAHAHA your supose to count them ??? at the moment I have NO top level domains or paid hosting services running thoughI have a Domain in the works I am just doing some testing and research at the moment of the market .. I have 5 .tk domain all but one are the same Identical wordpress but one which I have ran php nuked I have one site joomula. 3 .co.cc domains all running wordpress Identical to the TK sites 4.co.nr sites all wordpress Identical to the rest 1 wordpress.com site 1 blogger site 2 myspace blogs sites i live journal site 1 tumbler site 1 site @ j T n-network that links all the wordpress site together with my facebook fan page and my G+ page which at this point well google API dont really link your page to noting only your personal account .. 1 posturous account 1 ident.ca account that links my twitter account 1 personal Ident account 1 bitly account and API 1 also have a grou.ps account which is hopelessly useless in every sense of the word to me its an attempt to be a facebook clone rip off .. within the next week or so I will be registering a .com or .net more likely and a hosting account that will hold the weight of traffic which is very very small but for some would consider 2000 to 3000 hit a month a big hit they are mostly one time hits very short on returns at one point I had 40 subscribers but because I am basically on free hosting and free junk domains they are up down and block off and on without notice because of site that spam hack run all sorts of other ugly yuck the IPs get black listed and all using sharing the Ip have trouble sending mail and such .. nothing kills off traffic like running into a notice that says the IP is block because of reported abuse .. any how there is a method to the madness I am not always current with every site I am always current with the hub , the key more or less is in the social media some aimed at the US some at Canada, the UK and so on the balance in articles to go with it .. I find that even though the internet makes the world smaller in ways we still tend to clique in groups like this.. there are some aimed at men , women . teen, and varied countries music , gaming .. |

Seeing how it's my job, too many websites to count! |
|
I currently own one but manage 3 in total (the 2 others are for a friends business and I simply log in and fix any random errors that I happen to find and optimize anything I can to make it more bandwidth friendly. I am not really up to fully maintaining a website because it is too much responsibility, much better to have a server hosting company handle it. Most web hosting companies are good with keeping the server software up to date and everything compatible and transparent to the end user for the most part. |
