Blueray drive doesn't stay open with Linux Mint?

My internal sata blue-ray reader/dvd reader and writer drive works fine when running windows 7.

When i run linux mint however, if i try to open it, it: opens, closes, flashes once, opens, closes, flashes 8 times. It just wont stay open in linux mint!

I've tried updating all drivers from the mint settings but it doesn't find any.

Any suggestions?

if it wont stay open witha mint try a roc k ???

go into your control pannel (system settings) and see if there is an additional driver for your drive this is assumeing mint is like ubuntu in this way it wont install the manufacturers driver untill you ok it if they are avalable ..

hehe

best advise I can give is to see if there is a driver for Linux for the blue ray player I have not been hearing of a lot of issues so i am thinking the solution is at your fingertips :)
