Do you own both a Laptop and Desktop computer?

It seems to me that many people use one or the other. What do you use/have? Also what Desktop/Laptop do you own? Also what is you're reasoning for doing so?

My main machine is a 27" i7 iMac as it's my most powerful and has a great screen for work. I also have a 13" MacBook Pro which I only use fro University lectures or any small bits of work I need. I have put an SSD in it to speed things up when on the move but I rarely do any intensive work on it.

Yeah, I own both a laptop and desktop. Reason being, I can't play video games with this laptop, nor edit video (that's very long) on here either.

I have a Dell Latitude D620, I use this everyday as my main workhorse, and it's been serving me well for quite some time now.

I have an HP m9500f Media Center desktop, (with newer components, I gutted out stock and essentially made it custom built). I use this for gaming, my server, my film editing, etc.

the deal top is truly dead so isn't the lap top and defiantly keep them desk top in good repair because they are hard to find and getting harder and as they get harder to find many company's are no longer making the part to build or expand them..

tablets and smartphones are taking over ultrabooks and note books are changing to look more and more like what they are tablets with a keyboards ..

the next big move in home computing is moveing to the all in one television..

if you read the news you wil know that consumers including older consumer have been putting off new PC purchases to get there smart phones and tablets the companys can only go one so long with no Income they they have to move on to assure there future ..

the other thing that is happening because it needs to happen is the cost of computing devices are moving back up in price so isn't the cost of internet connection and data so they can afford less devices they have to choose what is more important and useful all the time..

Not really on purpose but yes, got a laptop 3 years ago as a gift, never worked that great, Compaq Presario, with Celeron Processor, 3gb of ram, Windows "died" in June of this year, so to replace it I built my own desktop, quad core i7, 16 gb of ram, etc, etc, and then literally today I fixed my laptop, so yeah I do own a desktop and a laptop, and the laptop will be used for portable everything, not really gaming or designing anything but in a pinch or mid transit boredom, and a back up of important data, and the desktop for everything else.
