the Vtech operating system has gone open source if ysa can geta copy and figure out how to compile and install it people are honest ..

Unix How ever I dont beieve is free version 6.x and will cost you $210 and that is an older version mind you single user goverment and non profit multiple use $225 new version single user will cost you $1,100.. that is $1,100 to upgrade you have to have it to get it upgrades are not free ...

now you under stand why the web is running on Linux which just for the record is not all free either, if you are a business :)

the source code is made avalable for free for the linux kernel then other programs drivers may or may not be free open source the code must be avalable for free to develope for your self ..

web OS is in open source now too and avalable for down load for developers same Idea as linux really there is a who devekopment community built around it..

There's a NTFS based "XP clone" called ReactOS but it's still in alpha.
