Hey guys, I'll be looking for a job soon, and I found a really neat offer to work at an electronics store. Generally, I'm good with electronics and know my way around them (I don't specialize in anything specific, but I know a lot about a lot of stuff). So, maybe anyone works at one? No names needed. What does it take? What do you do? What do you do that's not on the job description? Are there any pros or cons to this? What are your thoughts on that. Thanks. |

i dont work at one but... What does it take? - Pass a drug test, or fake it well My opinion of electronics stores and their employees are not very high, what I'm getting at is that it is retail, you really don't need to know much about anything you will learn stuff on the job. One can make good money working for an electronics store that specializes in high end stuff, but working for best buy you will simply be a drone that does whatever the almighty management says to do, but that is any retail store. and just for humor: http://gizmodo.com/5311140/the-seven-types-of-employees-you-meet-at-best-buy/gallery/1 |

I dont work at an electronic store though my wifes father has owned one and working at a fairly large non box store.
he is now in management start out young in sales work your way up, electronic stores out side the big mall box stores like best buys are a dieing breed they are always willing and happy to teach, train young people even happy to see them move up and open stores of there own keep it the trade going ..
in world that being taken over buy service industry and huge box stores malls and Walmart , the true sales person who knows there way around everything they sell is hard to find .
