Does anyone know if there is a forthcoming price drop on contracts for the iPhone 4 in the UK after the iPhone 5 is released? My contract on my 3GS is up mid September and I'm hoping to cut my costs each month with a different plan; I'd like an iPhone 4, but I'm hoping that when the iPhone 5 is out, the plans for it will drop in price as it will be two generations old. The plan would then be to sell my 3GS and use the money to buy a Google Nexus or to potentially go towards the rumoured iPad mini.

just searching every whereI can think of I see no such evidence of this , what I do see is that the old phone price have a istory of dropping once a new one comes out not the contract for service , generally it will use the same service :)

the cheapest thing i can find where i get the phone for free is £25 a month which is ok but it's a bad contract that also lasts two years :/ really hopping i can get something closer to that with a better plan, hopefully that'll happen after the launch or leading up to it. Any idea if the 3GS will be discontinued? If so that could mean Iphone 4 plans go down to 3GS prices which would be great!

i dont know about the UK but here the best way to save on services is to pay for your phone if you get it "free" you actually pay for the phone several times over during the life of the contract ..

this is why pay as you go is on the rise :)

I don't know about your plan, but look at this? http://goo.gl/jm33c, apparently T-Mobile gives you unlimited texts, and data for £36, and they give you the phone for £49 upfront. This one from 3 looks interesting too: http://goo.gl/NUZqx, 2,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and Unlimited data, for £30. Downside is the handset is £99. I mean I go to England maybe twice a year, my next trip is in November, and I will be using my Orange Dominicana SIM to use it over there. I might check out the iPhone prices as well, maybe I might get one for myself, lol.

made my way to a couple stores the other day and it's a no, the only change will be to the cost of the handset all the plans will stay the same so i impulsed upgraded to my first android device - the GalaxyS III 16gig :) It's a great phone and Jellybean is awesome! Plus i'm saving £20 a month with a plan similar to what i was on before :)
