I'm looking at getting the iPhone 5 or rumored name now coming out this fall. I was wondering if I should get AT&T or Verizon. Sprint in my area isn't good so I wouldn't consider that. Basically what I'm asking is what is your opinion on you're network and things you like and don't like. Thanks! |

Well it's depending on your area, and what is strongest for you. As you said Sprint isn't a viable choice for you because of the signal strength. Well, AT&T is a very strong network and does have roaming coverages with T-Mobile and other smaller GSM companies so you can get a strong signal. On the other hand, Verizon does have the strongest network and does cover places that AT&T doesn't, for example when I took a trip to Utah, Verizon covered even the most remote places while T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint didn't have any signal or roamed on some other network. Verizon you do have the unlimited talk and text but you don't have unlimited data anymore. Same for AT&T, they don't offer the unlimited plan anymore. I'd say if you're looking for AT&T, with unlimited, I suggest you look for Straight Talk. Straight Talk does use AT&T's signal and does give unlimited talk, text and web for $45. The only downside is that you have to pay full price for your phone, give or take $500-600. In my opinion and in my experience Verizon is much more superior to AT&T, in the New York area. To each his own though, you have to take this with a grain of salt, because think about it. You will sign a contract for 2 years, so you have to be very informed and ready for your situation. If Sprint doesn't cover your area as well, chances are Verizon, as they use a CDMA signal such as Sprint, will also fail in some retrospect. I'm assuming you checked the coverage maps, but here are the links to them: Verizon: http://goo.gl/13QGm AT&T: http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/#?type=voice |
